Mülheim Water Award 2024 open for submissions

The three month application period for the Mülheim Water Award 2024, which includes a €10,000 prize, began at the start of December. The award, which will be given for the ninth time in 2024, recognises practical research and development projects as well as the implementation of innovative concepts in water analysis methods and in drinking water supply. Submissions will close on the 29th of February 2024.

The Mülheim Water Award is sponsored by GERSTEL GmbH & Co. KG, a producer of automated systems for chemical analysis instruments, and the water supplier, RWW Rheinisch-Westfälische Wasserwerksgesellschaft mbH and, both located in Mülheim an der Ruhr. IWW Centre for Water will coordinate the application and selection process.

Mülheim Water Award 2024The theme for the 2024 award is “Innovations for a sustainable Water Industry and a safe & secure drinking water supply”. Applications are open to both natural and legal persons, groups of persons and institutions from Europe and Israel. Submissions of innovative, practically relevant concepts as well as application ready solutions that will help address future challenges in drinking water systems and water analysis methods are sought.

There is a two-stage application procedure beginning with a short online application. The initial application form will be available at https://muelheim-water-award.com/en/apply/ from the 1st of December 2023 to the 29th of February 2024. From the pool of submitted applications, a jury of experts will shortlist the most promising submissions for progression to stage two, where further application documents will be requested.

The Award Ceremony of the Mülheim Water Award 2024 officially takes place during the conference dinner of the 6. Mülheimer Wasseranalytisches Seminar (MWAS 2024 ) on the 10th of September 2024 in Mülheim an der Ruhr.

The Mülheim Water Award was first presented in 2006. Since then, the award has been presented eight times and over 170 applications from 25 different European countries have been received, covering the entire spectrum of water management topics.
