Mülheim Water Award 2020 open for submission

Mülheim an der Ruhr, November 19th, 2019 – The Mülheim Water Award 2020 will open for application on Sunday, 1st December 2019. The Award is endowed with 10.000€ and aims at applied research and development projects as well as the implementation of innovative concepts for drinking water supply and water analysis.

The “Mülheim Water Award” is jointly donated by the water supplier RWW Rheinisch-Westfälische Wasserwerksgesellschaft and GERSTEL GmbH & Co. KG, a producer of automated systems for instrumental chemical analysis. Both companies are located in Mülheim an der Ruhr. The application and selection process is coordinated by IWW Water Centre.

Topic of the current submission is: “Innovations for a sustainable, safe and secure drinking water supply”. Natural or legal persons, groups of persons or institutions from Europe may apply for the Award with projects delivering new procedures, solutions, products and concepts. Wanted for application are innovative, practice-orientated concepts as well as ready-for-use solutions to meet future challenges in water systems and water analysis. Application deadline is the 29th February 2020.

The application procedure consists of two steps: First, interested parties must submit a short application. The required application form will be available from 1st December 2019 to 29th February 2020 at https://muelheim-water-award.com/en/apply/. From the pool of submitted applications, the jury will identify the most promising candidates, and will request information that is more detailed in a second step.

The Mülheim Water Award was first granted in 2006. In six competition rounds, more than 130 applications from 22 different European countries were submitted, covering the entire range of water management topics.
