Water Resources Management

Sustainable water abstraction for drinking water purposes requires a consistent knowledge of water quantity and potential hazards from water pollution. In the forefront of the abstraction facilities the department of Water Resources Management supports water suppliers and water using industry. Its consulting and scientific activities serve for the development, sustainable protection und integrated management of water resources.

Recent projects in WRM have been focusing on modelling groundwater quality and the securing groundwater and surface water quality under climate change conditions. Our WRM scientists and consultants work for water supply companies in Germany and Europe.

Outlines for selected consulting projects

  • Nitrate in groundwater: modelling tools to predict long-term groundwater quality
  • Water catchment
